ASTD International (American Society for Training and Development) is the world’s largest association dedicated to Workplace Learning and Performance Improvement.

ASTD was formed in 1944 and its members come from more than 100 countries connecting in the USA with 136 Chapters and 30 Global Networks, representing every sector of commerce, local authorities and industry. The head office is in Washington D.C. with more than 100 employees to serve all its members.

ASTD’s mission is to create a world that works better through exceptional learning and performance.

ASTD South Africa Global Network is a partner of ASTD International, located in Featherbrooke Estate, Krugersdorp, Gauteng, South Africa. In 2002 ASTD SA was officially invited by ASTD International to become one of the International Global Network partners.

We conduct our own local International Conference on an annual basis - for more information click here. We have already completed six annual international events and 7 State of the Industry reports.

We have over 300 members in South Africa who receive regular newsletters, the monthly Management Today publication, an electronic version of HR Future and invitations to ongoing network events.

The President and founder of ASTD SA is Robin Probart who is supported by 16 members of an Advisory Board of Directors.
